iMovie rendering takes really long
Anybody experience this. Since I upgraded to Tiger, I noticed that my 4 to 10 min iMovie projects take 160+ mins to export to Quicktime. I don't think my projects have gotten more complicated with transitions or effects.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Have you run disk utility to check/verify your computer?

Yup. I was looking over the iMovie discussion board on apple.com and found this: apple discussions
No clear answer why it's happening. The only consolation is that I'm not the only one being affected. Someone is proposing thatQT 7 is the culprit & that there may be old QT6 components not over written. Checked my library folders and my QT7 files are ok -- not surprised, I did a clean install.

i think the new qt uses the new codec h.264 which really takes forever to do even on a g5. just setup a manual setting preference that uses sorenson to encode your movies.
