Search for all FCP files in your hard drive then delete each and every one of them. ;-) Command-F, type in "Final Cut Pro", make sure "Visibility" is set to "visible and invisible items".

I initially had problems opening FCP4 HD on my PB until I discovered that it was conflicting with one of the audio unit (AU) component plug-ins I had previously installed, for a different but related program. Tried to do a lot of installs and uninstalls in the process. This helped out a lot. It contains a list of all the files you need taken out, and then some.
It turns out that most of the files don't even have the 'final','cut' or 'pro' prefix on them, visible or otherwise. It's going to be a bit tedious but it pretty much covers everything.
