Default FCP 4.0 Shootout (Bare Feats)

Bare Feats' got an interesting FCP 4.0 (actually 4.1.1) shootout involving 14 Power Macs and PowerBooks, from the fastest dual-2GHz Power Mac G5 to an old dual-450MHz Power Mac G4. Check it out here. :-)

The tests clearly show the benefits of having a dual-processor Mac when running FCP. The dual-2GHz and dual-1.8GHz Power Mac G5s came out on top, no surprise there. What's surprising is that the older dual-1.42GHz and dual-1.25GHz Power Mac G4s are faster than the single-proc 1.8GHz and 1.6GHz Power Mac G5s respectively.

The new 1.5GHz AlBook also gave a pretty good showing. Faster than a dual-1GHz Power Mac G4 and just a little bit slower than a 1.6GHz Power Mac G5. Road warriors rejoice! ;-)

Nakakaiyak naman that the new 1.5GHZ albook beats my old Dual 1GHZ Quicksilver in FCP 4. Oh well. Maybe I need G5 Duallies already. Dual 3 GHZ?... Sana nga.
