FCE can't capture Video on Sony TRV120
Sir's I need your inputs...
I can't capture my video using a Video8 (Sony TRV120) to my Mac.
Here's what I did;
1. Connect the Cam to Mac using Firewire Cable
2. Launch FCE and Click on Capture
3. After the Capture window appears, I clicked the play button on the preview
4. then I click on Capture Now... a new window appears and there's a message that its Waiting for Timecode, Device must be in VTR mode (I already set the Sony Cam to VTR mode) when Device Control is enabled.
after that...no video appears on it... and its not recording while the Cam is playing....
anyone encountered this.??? thank in advance

try attaching camera after you launched FCP. Try also refreshing AV device, video playback or external devices in VIEW. Im using FCP HD but FCE should just be the same. hope this helps.

in FCP i change the capture settings from DV to uncontrollable device. usually happens when capturing material from non-dv source.

old TRVs do not recognize by Mac.
it happened to me,too.
so i borrowed a vcr, like sony dsr-1500, a dv player and recorder.
