I was hoping you guys can help me out here. I'm in the process of copying some movie chapters for a compilation. Before i would just run a complete DVD disc copy to copy whole discs, but now I need only some specific chapters from several DVDs and I'm stuck

I also have a source DVD with 6.57 GB, which makes it impossible for me to simply copy the whole disc knowing the DVDs which run on our burners can only max out at 4.7GB.
What program will allow me to simply rip the chapters i need (with the appropriate english language and subtitles) and burn them on a DVD. Is it possible for Toast to do a "cueing" system, meaning copy the first 4.7 from the 6.57GB source and the remaining 1.87GB on another DVD.
To rip individual chapters with specific audio and subtitle tracks:
- use OSEx;
- select the title and chapter number you need;
- deselect all the unnecessary audio and subtitle tracks;
- format (Fmt) should be "Prog. Streams", segment (Seg) should be "Title";
- rip, resulting file will be in VOB format, perfect for burning, no loss in quality.
To rip individual chapters including all audio and subtitle tracks:
- use OSEx, selecting all audio and subtitle tracks; or
- use MacTheRipper;
- "Mode" = "Title - Chapter Extraction";
- specify the title and the start (SChpt) and end (EChpt) chapters (same if ripping just one chapter);
- rip, resulting file also in VOB format.
To identify the title and chapter where the scene you need resides:
- play the DVD using Apple DVD Player, skip to the scene;
- click on "Title" on the controller until you see something like 1/2 (title 1 of 2);
- click on "Chapter" on the controller until you see something like 6/28 (chapter 6 of 28).
To copy an entire DVD (the whole shebang) > 4.38GB for burning onto a single-layer DVD±R:
- rip the DVD using MacTheRipper, "Full Disc Extraction" mode;
- compress the ripped VIDEO_TS folder using an app like DVD2oneX or DVDRemaster (I prefer DVD2oneX);
- burn resulting VIDEO_TS folder using Toast Titanium 6 using either a) Data - DVD-ROM (UDF) <- (I prefer this method) or b) Video - DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS if you're already using Toast Ti 6.0.7.
Do note that there will be a slight loss in video quality when using the above method. But so far, it's the only way to make a virtual duplicate of a DVD with everything included when you don't have a dual-layer DVD burner.
Hope this helps!

Or if you don't have Toast yet, a slightly cheaper solution than DVD2oneX+Toast is the $30 Roxio Popcorn, which allows you to compress the video and burn it at the same time. I find it's output similar in quality to DVD2oneX, especially for movie-only copies. ;-)
