About LinkBacksHi! Does anyone know if DCR-TRV33 or TRV22 videocams can plyback DVCAM format? I've looked at reviews and they always don't say. I plan to buy a camera that can play both DV and DVCAM formats. Need help. Thanks!

I believe most Sony MiniDV camcorders (except for really old ones that predate the DVCAM standard) can play back DVCAM tapes. Format is the same for both (still DV) anyway, same thing with the quality. The only difference is that DVCAM tapes run faster than MiniDV tapes, and DVCAM camcorders record the data into a wider area of the tape compared to MiniDV (larger tape heads, I think).Originally posted by DecimusMxms

Thank you! Do you know where TRV22/33 falls? Old or new? I have a JVC GR-DV800, almost new, doesn't play DVCAM. Anyone who wants to buy this?

Check the specs sheet from Sony on the TRV models you mentioned, if it say it can play DVCAM then indeed it can, if it does not then most likely it won't.
U2U me the price of the JVC.
