Default Best software for trimming, resizing videos?

Is there a good app for mac that can resize or trim videos? I've got *.avi files that needs to be burned to CDs and I like to cut some unwanted scenes or resize the videos to make them fit in. Converting the videos to another format is also an option. Thanks in advance.

i think quicktime can do the job. if not, there's always iMovie and Final Cut.

Thanks guys. I just installed Final Cut and tried to import my avi video clip for editting. Does it really take so slow? I just want to chop off the first few minutes of the movie and hopefully I dont have to wait like 1 or 2 hours everytime I want to edit a video.

the native supported video of FCP kasi is quicktime. that's why it takes a long time to edit your video. kasi it needs to render the video first eh.
