Default .asf;.mov;.avi; etc. to MPEG or MPG converter

Can anyone recommend a software that would allow me to convert any media files to quicktime format? I can't find one even in version tracker.

    Thanks!

QuickTime Pro can import a whole lotta file formats and export them to QuickTime, etc.

Another excellent encoder is the free ffmpegX. Not exactly a QuickTime Pro equivalent but it's great if you're thinking of encoding your existing files to VCD, SVCD, DVD, etc.

BTW, I don't think there's any OS X app that will allow you to convert .asf files to QuickTime. The ultra-expensive Cleaner 6 can encode to .asf from a variety of formats (including QuickTime), but not the other way around.

DivX Doctor II converts DivX AVI videos to 3ivx Quicktime .mov files to correct stuttering sound and jerky playback on Mac OS. It also works on MPEG files and possibly, other video files. It's free, too. But do take the time to check out other 3ivx technologies as well.

    Here's the download link:

Oh, and whenever you can't find something at VersionTracker, try the alternative, MacUpdate.com. Sometimes, this site is more helpful than VT.

AND if you need to convert to Windows Media and you have access to Virtual PC, install Windows 2000 and download the _free_ Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft.com.

I've encountered an error while converting a video on DivX Doctor II

"The AVI you just added contains an AC3 audio track. AC3 support is very rudimentary. I'll just dump the track for you."

    Any advise?

Use Discreet Cleaner Mac and PC versions but of course the Mac version is so much more gorgeous, intuitive and easy to use. It's a wonder anyone uses PCees  at all.

LMK Commercial is the official distibutor for Discreet software in the Philippines.
    FYI.

    Hi activeingredient,

Have you tried checking the Decompress Audio option of DivX Doctor II before converting?

If that doesn't work, then you can also try to download the freeware AC3 Codec from this link and see if it solves the problem:

    www.insaneness.com

    Hope this also helps.

I think QCP Converter is the one you find, it converts WMA, WAVE, MP3, OGG, AAC, AIFF, MP4, MIDI, AU, SND, FLAC, Monkey's APE, AC3, RealAudio (RA, Ram, Rm) and audio CD to QCP and makes QCP Ringtone
