Default What are the photographs that inspire you?

I have been inactive with regards to photography for several months now, and although I missed it terribly at first, now it's just "one of those things that I used to do a lot". But every once in a while I come across an image that makes me want to go out, grab a camera, and shoot.

Here's one I just found in a series of aerial photos by talented photojournalist Vincent Laforet - it's called "Me and My Human" and it was shot with a Canon EOS-1D DSLR from a helicopter hovering over Central Park. Wow!

My source of inspiration has always been Ansel Adams' Yosemite series.

hi brain1976, you might want to check Carleton Watkins out. he was documenting yosemite and other landscapes in america way before mr. adams. though not as technically perfect as adams' prints, (he shot using glass plates instead of negatives), It's amazing how he got that much detail in his work.

This is the guy that started it all!

Those of you who know me personally know that it was always a fantasy of mine to be a professional sports photographer (in this country?! Ha!)

Here are two of my personal favorite sports photos (I have so many favorites); the first is a classic Ali photo by the legendary Neil Leifer and the second is probably the best Sports Illustrated cover I've ever seen, shot by Fred Vuich.

Also love Fred Vuich masterpiece... what inspires me are the countless photographs of every National Geographic. Also my ultimate dream to have my shot in one of their pages.

Anyone got a copy or seen one - 'Through the Lens: National Geographic Greatest Photographs'?

Vic- I read an article on that Vincent Laforet dude. Every couple days, he goes out on a helicopter for assignments (he works for the New York Times) and if he still has a couple minutes left after doing his required shoot, he goes around NYC taking more photos. He said he's really into the 'aerial look' and how that changes our perception on everyday things.. Here's more of his fantastic work..

I really really like CJ Morgan's work. Check out his photo a day gallery.
