    Default The Ultimate Digital SLR

Several months after its release, Phil Askey has finally released his review of Canon's flagship (for now) D-SLR, the EOS-1D mk ii.

Does he like it? Let his conclusion speak for itself:

"Is this the ultimate digital SLR? For now I have to say yes, it offers an amazing level of build quality and environmental sealing, superb eight megapixels of resolution, low noise at almost any sensitivity, over eight frames per second (with a forty frame buffer) and near instant performance. All this for $1,000 less than the EOS-1D cost when it was introduced."

my brother in law has one, it's just super awesome. Jaw dropping performance coming from a digital camera. The best so far I handled. Just kept saying "my precious" everytime I touched it.

During the last MUG Meet, we got to tinker w/ an Mk II. While it was as good as advertised, as some of the MUGger photogs around remarked, it was big-ass heavy. Nakaka-carpal tunnel!
