    Default the trouble with triggers

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some reliable triggers to me. I've been trying to use some IR triggers (falcon eyes and seconic) but they don't seem to work very well in our studio (we have an open ceiling and the light doesn't reflect well on it). I tried a radio trigger (falcon eyes) and it wasn't so reliable. So far, I've been using the sync cord and it's been very reliable, but since I'm using a canon 350D, I have to use a hotshoe adapter, and it keeps getting loose. I'm looking for something that's relliable but also reasonably priced. I don't really want to stick with the sync chord because it's very constraining.

Best trigger's I've tried are the pocket wizards. Very Pricey compared to the chinese counterparts but worth every centavo! Aperture trading carries them.

pocketrocket, i know it's OT, but i just had to ask... Are you a Star Trek Original Series fan? Because, there's an episode from the series that's titled "the trouble with tribbles"...

Bought this relatively cheap made in china radio slave from Wizen for about P1,800 two years ago. As far reliability goes, I can't give you a definite answer since I've only had a handful of opportunities to use it. Never failed me so far though. Might want to try it though.

Funny you should ask, I am a fan of Star Trek the original series but not really what you would call a Trekkie. I do remember that episode, though, and how they got into trouble by bringing those cute little furry tribbles into the enterprise not knowing that they multiply super fast. Before they knew it, those pesky things were everywhere. Can't remember how they resolved it, though.

You might want to try out the IRX of Broncolor. Very reliable.

Frank actually offered me those pocket wizards, but grabe, super expensive. And each additional reciever pa is also super mahal!! That's why I opted to try out those falconeyes triggers in the meantime. However, i guess you really do get what you pay for. I'll just probably have to scrimp and save till I can afford to get the "good kind".

Anyway, thanks for all the help, everyone. I more or less know what to do now.

Nonesense, you are a trekkie, admit it. You have been assimilated! And if i'm not mistaken, they teleported all the tribbles back to the space station that they bought the originals from.

Good to find someone who appreciates the classic sci-fi series...Live long and Prosper!

I've been using a Tristar radio trigger/receiver combo that I purchased from Avenue. It's been reliable so far for me.

    Cheers!
