Photokina is listed as the Philippine Distributor of Tamron Lenses

Question then, would there be any advantages of getting all original canon lenses rather than getting third party lens?

The biggest issue would be compatability. We have a 70-200 2.8 Tamron lense that worked fine with film bodies but would not work properly with a 10D, 20D or 300D--not even with a 1D MarkII---some say we have to re-chip the thing. If you own all original lenses, you will be assured that Canon or Nikon will make their cameras compatible with the lenses they produce esp. now that lenses and cameras are getting "smarter"

Technically, all original lenses are compatible with the body except when listed as not.

However, third party lens manufacturers (Tamron, Tokina, Sigma etc) release lenses that are fully compatible with DSLR cameras of various mounts (Canon, Nikon etc.)

It's just a matter of finding the compatible lens equivalent from these brands.

Third party manufacturers will produce compatible lenses for cameras that are existing today. The problems occurr when manufacturers like Canon or Nikon decide to re-tool thier cameras not to work with some third-party lense. If you decide to go with a Canon system and buy third-party lenses, then you ugrade to a better camera or a new camera in the future, then Canon "marketing" decides that that camera will only function with canon leneses. Yun na, problema na.
