\'Shu Uemura\' Brush You Sensor
I think TJ (freeformula) will probably shake his head when he reads this....
Clean your DSLR Camera Sensor with your 'SHU UEMURA' make up brush.
Oh, I forgot, I don't have that brush, would the PhilMUG ladies be so nice to give us a tour to your favorite make-up brush store, please?
cheers!

Hey Randy,
Saw that link in dpreview.com. Ang galing! Anyway, I went to one of the art stores here in Makati and they have a lot of nylon brushes at around P700. Its quite tedious to make the brushes useable though.
I guess the make-up brush will be the best option but that guy said that a brush that meets the criteria is hard to find. Also he wasn't able to test if there is glue in these make-up brushes. I suspect they do so I guess let's live with the artist brushes. I'll try to do these myself and will let you know what happens.
On another note, his other articles are interesting to read like how to test your lens.

In our studio, we use our rubber tip "eurochef" spatula with pecpads and eclipse solution. Super economical and more effective than "sensor brush."

ok guys, being a makeup artist here, and after having just read the article that randy posted kanina, you might wanna conider these about the shu uemura brushes, or any other cosmetic brushes in the market:
1) most shu uemura brushes are made of NATURAL fibers (pony/sable hair, kolinsky, and squirrel), and are extremely soft on the face. i just don't know how the natural brushes stand to test on cleansing filters and stuff, but they do have a tendency to attract dust, these natural fibered ones.
2) although i am quite sure that the counter people of shu are knowledgable about their stuff, here's a quick tip lang: when buying /testing brushes, make sure that the brush you're getting is marked with F on the handle (for example: 10 F synthetic fiber) because F means that it's a flat brush, and the article did mention that it needed to be flat.
3) shu uemura brushes are made durable and can stand numerous cleanings. so if you need to clean off excess glue on the bristles (if there are any), then you dont have to worry about it falling apart. some brushes show signs of thinning only after 3 cleansings.
4) they are quite expensive. brushes range from PhP 500-6000 each. that's why ladies consider shu uemuras quite an investment and a status symbol nonetheless.
5) try other brands. in my brush sets, i have more than shu uemuras stocked in. sketch books (i think that's the name of the art store in greenbelt 3) has a lot of alternative brushes you could use. ika nga ni ate vi: you can never can tell.
hope i was of help guys!
=)

thanks the_diva,
The lowest end Original 'Sensor Brush' costs about 107USD so thats just about in the upper limit of the amount you mentioned and more or less 1000% more than the lower limit.
If I could find a 'worthy' brush in the 500 - 2000 Php range, SHU.. or an artists brush, i'd be happy

although i forgot to mention one special shu uemura brush, which costs an arm and a leg. and it's not even a collector's item. it's the 12S pure kolinsky brush that retails for PhP 14,500. grabe.

I found a nylon artist brush that is flat and 20mm wide in sketch books. Costs around P800. Haven't tested if it has excess glue because I do not have a multi-coated filter. Just a quick question. Is any UV filter a multi-coated filter?
OT a little, where can I buy a rubber bulb blower? The one used to blow dust and particles. Can't seem to find any in Makati.
Thanks in advance
