Postcards from Palawan, or why I missed the PhilMUG meeting
Cokeycyn and I just got back from a four-day weekend in Palawan, and not only did we get our fair share of snorkeling done, we also got to take our respective cameras out for a bit of healthy exercise. I'll let her post her own pics in due time (suffice it to say that she got the most out of her iXUS i5's underwater housing) but in the meantime, here are a few of my pics from the past four days, or what we now affectionately call "The Weekend Without Warcraft".
All photos shot with a Canon EOS-1D Mark II digital SLR and either a 70-200mm f/4, a 28-70 f/2.8 L, a 50mm f/1.4 or a Sigma 15-30mm (which incidentally is a piece of dog-turd lens that is slowly but surely falling apart. Ultra shoddy build quality, am just waiting for it to finally die so I can replace it)
Incidentally, I took this opportunity to also give iPhoto 5's features a try. Superb program. In fact, as you can see, I fell in love with the Book layout function...

Finally we get to see pics, but I suspect it is not from your Canon 1D Mk II though.

Haha, you would suspect wrong, they're all from my camera. Why?
Dunno, probably because you didn't mention bringing it with you when we were talking earlier... hehehehe....

Oh, trust me, my shoulder won't let me forget that I brought my gear with me. At the airport, i weighed my Lowepro Mini Trekker on the scale and fully loaded (albeit without chargers, tripod, or PowerBook) the bag weighed exactly 20 pounds. That's twenty pounds I was carrying around with me all day for four days!
BTW, Cyn said she'll post her pics this weekend. I'm sure she won't mind me posting this one though ... a photo of her poor demented hubby realizing how difficult it is to look photogenic while underwater
