Saw this on the front page of today's Star. Good thing to know our local photojournalists are equipped with good gear!
EDIT: Incidentally, looking hard at the newspaper photo, I count six Canon bodies (four of which are definitely EOS-1D series, one D60? or 10D?, and one unidentifiable), three Nikon bodies, and the guy in the upper left is holding what looks like a consumer point-and-shoot. Five out of the six Canon bodies appear to have "L" lenses, and the remaining one is facing away from the camera but since it's a 1D series, it probably has "L" glass on it too.
Forgive me this meaningless post, it's a slow day at the office.
What I want to know is, did they take turns photographing the cameras for their respective papers? Obviously, Val Rodriguez's camera is not part of the "protest"!
i remember when i was doing a campaign for PETA (People's Ethical Treatment of Animals) and client had invited the press to shoot the set up. All the PJ's had better gear than we had!
mostly all pro dslr's, a couple of 1d mark 2's and a handful of d2h's too! it's cool having a sponsor to pay for your gear! wish us fashion / editorial people had the same support!

hahahaha!!! sana nga no? in fact, it's the exact opposite of what's happening. we're left to fend for ourselves. everything must come from our own pockets. kaya nga sobrang saya kapag nababagsakan ng ilaw. parang biglang slomo ang buong mundo kapag pabagsak na yung strobes sa semento. hay...
