    Default New Canon magazine

Good news for PhilMUG photo buffs!

Canon Philippines just came out last week with a new, exclusive magazine called Images, with photo essays, articles, guides and features about photography, printing and other related technologies, in an easy-to-read, accesible, modern lifestyle layout.

Inside you can find a Canon lens guide written by Albert Labrador, photo tips by Chad Samaniego, a special sports photography feature by Vic Icasas, scanner artwork by Carlo Herman, reviews of the Powershot G6, the EOS 20D and the XL2 high-end video camera, profiles of celebrity Canon users, famous magazine cover photographers and many more.

MTV VJ Sarah Meier graces the cover of the premiere issue.

It's a special, exclusive not-for-sale magazine, but Canon's Lesley Ang has generously offered to provide complimentary copies for all Philmuggers attending the next official meeting. So if you want a copy, please make it a point to attend our next get-together.

Very nice work Adel! I was able to browse through one of the "fresh-off-the-printer" copies courtesy of Mr. Pock and its something to be really proud of!

    Congrats!

Thanks! It's Adel who deserves to be patted on the back though. My work was puny, compared to his. He did a super job and it shows--it's a good magazine. Canon should be pleased.

    Adel, congratulations!

Can we now play 'spot the mugger'?

Not to mention of course, our own PhilMUG chairman also happens to be the Editor in Chief of the magazine! Other notable MUGGer appearances and bylines include Elbert Cuenca, Eli Santiago, Paolo Pineda, Gabe Mercado, Iya Yotoko, and more.

In fact, my business partner leafed through it and returned it to me saying, "O, eto na yung barkada magazine mo" hahahahah

Exciting and cool mag with the muggers in it! Congrats Adel! Looking forward to getting a copy.

Tara na, let's meet up maybe another quick hidalgo escapade, or the upcoming Avilon photo trip.

Ah, I was trying to avoid mention of that little factoid of my editorship, Vic. It's hard to pimp something you made and still retain credibility. It becomes like "Hey, gang, look at what I made, o! Nice, diba?"

Just wanted to show the snap-happy people here something I'm sure they'd be interested in. BTW, for those who've emailed and U2Ued me for copies, I only have one myself. The first one off the press; I think Vic has more copies than I do. I know the rest are in the Canon offices already. You'll really have to come to the next meeting. Or bug Lesley.

Regarding the 'barkada' thing: can I help it if all the talented and creative people in the country are mostly in PhilMUG? What do I do, pull some people from the PC forums?

Vic, we all forgot to mention the five-page profile on the Doctor-For-All-Seasons, my tokayo iDoc, who loves Canon so much even some of his medical equipment in his clinic is made by Canon. O diba? (Adel: TF ko na lang yung luma mong 1D! )

Ah, but someone must give you credit where credit is due! Sayang naman if all your hard work goes unnoticed. And a tremendous job it is ... wonderful magazine!

Yup, I have a couple of copies here in the studio since Les dropped off some for both me and Angelo Villegas (one of the "featured celebrities&quot ... the perks of being located five hundred meters from Canon's offices.

And as for tokayo, I did say " ... Iya Yotoko, and more." And is there any better phrase to describe Adel Samson than "and more"? hahaha. He had quite a writeup!
