Konica Minolta and Lenses
Hi guys. I'm from Australia and am staying with some relatives in Malaysia at the moment, and soon I will be flying to the Phillipines to stay with one of my friend for about 3 weeks. I used to own a Panasonic FZ20 but sold it and I'm looking into getting a Konica Minolta 5D dslr. Do they have any shops in the Phillipines that sell Konica Minolta lenses? I'm looking at getting a KM 50mm f/1.7 and a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 (the new red ring version one), both obviously in KM mount. Here are the links:

Australia's prices are terrible, so I'm hoping that they will be cheaper in the Phillipines
By the way, what is the Phillipines like? I will be staying in Manila, and I have no idea what to expect lol. I am only going because my friend said he would provide me free accomodation with air con included
Looking foward to your replies,
Nafo

a lot of stores here that carry KM products. wouldn't know how much they are though. am not really a KM user. am pretty sure though that prices would be lower here than in australia.
as for the what the philippines is like, i'd describe it to be a mix of heaven and earth.

Thanks for the info! Heaven and Earth sounds great  My friend keeps on saying I'll get bored too easily, but then again he grew up there as a local, and I don't even know what Manila looks like lol.
Ok, I did some looking around for the Sigma 70-300 and the cheapest price I could find was Php 11800 and it would take 2 weeks to 1 month to order it, which would be enough time before I leave. So guys, does that sound like a decent price?
One more Q, does Columbia photo have a website or email that I can contact them at?
It seems like Malaysia here doesn't stock much KM stuff either

SIGMA 70-300
hi guys! There's a Sigma supplier in Makati and I was there about 2 weeks ago. They should have the 70-300 that you are looking for. The price is about P11,800, I'm sure if they have one for the Minolta. The name of the company is JT and they're the official dealer of Sigma line of camera equipment in the Philippines. This is their office number:5366590/5234396. Look for Edna Ong, she'll entertain regarding the lens or any other stuff you might want.

I wouldn't count on Columbia, they claim to be dealers / distributors of Nikon over here but no support whatsoever has been given to the professional photogaphers using this system. I wouldn't put it passed them to be the same way with regards to Konica Minolta equipment.

The main Columbia office is near del monte avenue. if you bought your cameras and lenses here in the Philippines, then they have to fix it. Thats why I dont buy in hongkong anymore, the little price difference is not worth it if ur 200k equipment bogs down within the warranty period.
Mr. totolabradog, IMHO, i think they improved na. and people tend to think that the columbia stores in megamall and cubao are the main office of Columbia, they're not.
