yup! Spend on glass! Definitely get the 85 1.8 and the 50 1.8 and that's all you need! You'd probably get better results shooting out or in window light rather than spending on falcon eyes. Medyo sirain and a little too weak for main lights in the studio.

Save some more and get the auroras from aperture. they will last longer and you can do more with them.

yep. if you get the 85 1.8 and the 50 1.8, you'll have enough cash left over for the camray auroras they go for about 32K.

    Oo nga naman.

I proceed from the premise that charmedmac had the lenses to cover the 28-210 focal range to start with. With the "limited" budget, it made sense to get his feet wet on his existing set-up.

The ultrawide increases his focal range, although it is indeed odd to recommend it for babies and portaiture. I wasn't. I just assumed that sooner or later, a doting father will go out to pasture, and the seek the added perspective from an ultrawide.

By addendum, the 18-200mm VR has yielded me some lovely pics. This lens is worth every penny.

I actually have taken sunset silhouette shots of my kids with a 12-24 which I love, so you're right. As they get older, the ultrawides become great options.

@charmedmac - unfortunately the d50 does not have a nikon branded grip. neither do the d70 and the d70s. as far as i know only the d100 and the d200 have nikon made battery grips.
