After being out for 3 weeks in Oslo Norway, i'd like to share with you camera enthusiasts a new find, at least for me. The HORIZON 202 Panoramic camera.
The Russian Horizon 202 is a fully mechanical 35 mm camera with a 28 mm (f2.8-f16) swing lens design covering 120° horizontally and 45° vertically.
It is manufactured by KMZ – Krasnogorsky Mekhanichesky Zavod (Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant) – in Krasnogorsk. KMZ is also known for the Zenit and Zorki cameras and is the largest producer of photographic equipment in Russia and the former Soviet countries.
A cousin of my wife introduced me to it.
This now will pave the way to slowly get back to film for "special occasion/situation" photography. In fact, all the recent events have slowly ushered me back to film; The Horizon acquisition, the sale/swap of my 1d for a 1V film body (yehey, now i can use all my glass for print film) .
In the coming weeks, visit, http://www.pbase.com/manilaman04 I will have more Norway photos posted, right now they are still in the pipeline being processed. (1st outing of my 1dMarkll)
In the mean time here's a sample of the Horizon 202 output.
Just curious, can you have that developed at any photolab? As in as is without cropping? It doesn't seem to conform to the usual sizes (4R, 5R, 8R). I know photolabs have panoramic sizes, though I'm not sure if the aspect will fit.

No more messing around with photo stitching apps. :-)

not really.
depending on your budget and how much this russian camera/lens cost, there is a digital alternative that has been in the market for years.
no stitching required.
Umm, sabi ko nga. "No more messing around with photo stitching apps" and "no stitching required". What's the difference? And I was just commenting on the Horizon 202. I didn't say anything about it being the only solution.
