There is also a Mamiya ZD back only (22 megapixels, 36mm x 48mm CCD) - (no body) for those who have the Mamiya 645AFD and the New RZ67 Pro IID medium format cameras.
This were announced September last year, kasabay ng Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II at Nikon D2X (i think)...
Kaso, im very sure the mamiya's are uber expensive pa din - MF digital back...although championship yan sa kuha ng pics!!!
Rumor is this thing will cost 10,000 USD whenit comes out. Though the back seems a much better option, para you can switch from film to digital when the need arises. Also I'm guessing a bigger viewfinder!
Leica na film na, pwede pa gawing gigital. Hope the other companies (Canon?) start pursuing this avenue, para magamit ko na uli yung EOS 3 ko (may spot meter, eye control, 7fps, weather seal)...hehe
Sorry to all the leica fans out there but i've heard about problems with dust when you switch the backs. If we get dust in our sensors even with the mirror down and shutter closed, imagine what an exposed sensor will pick up when you switch from a film back to digital. Just my :2cents:
Just wondering... my father recently unearthed my grandfather's Mamiya 645 1000s which was in storage for years since he died but in excellent working condition. My question is can you get a digital backing for this, even if it's not supported on the PhaseOne site? Are there any adapters to make one fit?
I haven't seen or even used the camera yet but I will be getting it once I see my father in April in the US. Just curious if I could go digital with it?
NO! it will NEVER END!!! forever tayong magtatrabaho para bumili ng bagong gamit para sa trabaho natin. hahahaha!!! :P
if it's 10, 000 USD, it's relatively cheaper than a phase one 22MP back. so, it's definitely a good alternative for those who are planning to buy a digital back. and since it's a mamiya, i bet it's a great camera.
what blew me away about the ZD is it's design. it looks like a nikon f4. i know it's gonna be a bit heavy but at least you can handle it like a large 35mm SLR. much better than handling that monster they call an RB67.
now, where did i hide my lotto numbers?
