    Default Finder Preview Question

Very much a newbie. I just noticed this recently. When you open an image in Preview and let's say you rotated the image and saved it. Why does the little image on finder preview (When selecting an image on finder, this is the preview that comes out on the right with file info when using columns view) get bigger and the file size get bigger as well.

ey mic, i assume those are jpeg files?

when "saving" using preview, instead of "Save" try "Save as.." then you can adjust the compression of your jpeg file. could be that you are saving them either in "best" or you are saving them in tiff. hence the larger file size.

    Thanks Kai.

I did not know that rotating an image in Preview and saving actually changes the JPEG compression. I better just turn on Auto Rotate in my cam instead or use ViewIt so as my original JPEG file from the camera does not get altered.

I been trying to figure this out since kanina. Can't sleep
