Default Epson P-2000 Multimedia Storage Viewer

Cool device I am asking from Santa. If only there is an Apple version of this gadget...

"The Epson P-2000 Photo Viewer is the latest digital imaging accessory that enables you to save your photos from your digital camera memory card and view them on the 3.8 inch Photo Fine display. The bright vivid displays found in Epson Photo Fine products make them suitable for use under most lighting conditions. Whether you are indoors or outdoors, you’ll be able to enjoy viewing your photos from the Epson P-2000.

The key features of the Epson P-2000 include a 3.8 inch VGA (640x480) high definition Photo Fine display that offers a resolution of 212 pixels per inch (ppi). You can store and view your photo albums, create slide shows and connect to your photo printer, computer or TV. The Epson P-2000 is approximately twice as fast as its predecessor when viewing photos and has a battery life of up to three hours.

In addition to the quality photo viewing capabilities, the Epson P-2000 provides support for digital camera and camcorder movies and music files. You can add music files to your slide shows for a fun and lively presentation of your images. Also included is a 40 GB hard disk drive, so it can double up as a portable storage unit for any PC or Mac files.

Richard Baylis, Sales and Marketing Manager, Epson UK says, “The Epson P-2000 Multimedia Storage Viewer gives a high-quality mutlimedia experience. It offers digital photographers and lovers of gadgets a compact solution for downloading and storing their photos, whether at home, in the studio or on the move.”

Apple, please give us a fast, decent media reader for the iPod Photo.

The Epson is sold out everywhere in the US grabe! I just wished it can handle generic batteries though. Still it's a stand-out product, same price as the ipodphoto 40gb with a lot of improvements for the photographer.

Dominiquejames, let us know if you have info about local availability and discounts

    Hello Ditoy and all friends,

I received an email today from one of the executives of Epson Philippines.

From the message, I was informed that: "Sorry the said product is exclusively for the Japanese market only (and maybe in Europe or USA). It is a remarkable product but sadly we do not carry it in this region, as well as the rangefinder."

From what I gather, it is not clear or certain whether such Epson products will be officially carried by other local distributor, independently imported or made available thru direct orders. In this case, there may be (again, I am not certain) issues regarding product warranty, or at the least, difficulty in servicing thru warranty of products not officially distributed by Epson Philippines.

Like you guys, I am most certainly interested in this product, as well as in the Epson R-D1 Digital Rangefinder Camera.
