DIGITAL PHOTO 101 March 16 17 18 21 28, 2005
The Alcove Photo Gallery invites photography enthusiasts and graphic
artists to our class offering this March, Digital Photography 101 by
Jay Alonzo on March 16, 17, 18, 21 & 28, 2005 (6:00p.m.-9:00p.m.) at
the Filipinas Heritage Library, Makati Avenue, Ayala Triangle, Makati
City (across The Peninsula Manila).
The workshop is intended for digital camera users and for people
involved in working with digital images, who would like to learn the
basics of digital photography. Learn how to use the digital camera;
know how to maximize the use of this new tool based on one's
photographic needs and interests; and work with the digitized photos
to get the best digital image output for one's application.
Going Digital will cover the following topics:
§ Factors affecting photographic output
§ Basic understanding of light
§ The digital camera and its functions
§ Exposure setting
§ How To See Better Pictures
§ How To Take Better Pictures
§ Basic image manipulation and Output Considerations
To further develop the participants' knowledge, this workshop is
aided by photo assignment and critiquing/photo clinic.
About The Instructor
Jay Alonzo is one of the country's leading workshop instructors
today.
He has been teaching at The Alcove Gallery-Ayala Foundation since
summer of 2002 and for the Technology & Livelihood Resource Center
from 1996 to 2002.
Jay Alonzo took advantage of modern technology for his craft when he
had his first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 995, in 2001. Now a
Canon 300D and Olympus E1 user, he has taken photographs published in
magazines such as Mabuhay and Yes!. His images have also been used in
movie posters, billboards, and travelogues.
Jay mainly photographs movie celebrities for various local movie
companies, food and hotel/resorts and model folios for a local
modeling agency. He is also a photo contributor for Mabuhay magazine,
Philippine Airlines' in-flight magazine, as well as MZone and
Businessday magazine. His most recent works included the pictorial
for Mano Po 3 in Beijing last year, and shooting publicity photos for
the movie, "Birhen ng Manaoag".
As a requirement, each participant has to bring a digital camera of
any type or model.
