Looks interesting, although, reading the manual, you apparently can't switch easily between vertical and horizontal orientation since (1) half-pressing the button for meter/focus doesn't work on the vertical grip (because it uses the D70's IR interface) and (2) you have to place the D70 in IR mode for the vertical grip to work, which means that the standard (horizontal) shutter release won't work while in "vertical mode."
Not sure how this will affect the pro photographers out there though. (In fact I don't even own a D70 myself.) All in all this still looks like a solid product. :2cents:

I just browsed through the manual. Uhmmm, first and foremost, it doesn't look aesthetically pretty.
Secondly, why switch to IR mode to do vertical shots? Taxing if you ask me.

I agree, it is aesthetically acceptable. My only problem is the IR cord and the $179.99 tag price. :x:
