Default Is THIS CF Card big enough for you yet?

"...Pretec also announced 12GB CF card today at CeBIT 2004, 300% larger capacity than any of its closest competitors in the world, priced at $9999, to be delivered by 2nd half of 2004..."

Wow! Really impressive! So maybe an ipod mini 12Gb will cost $8000 hehehe

I guess some photographers like the paparazzi don't have time to change CF cards and can afford this!

With this price, you can get a 4Gb CF card, a brand new Canon EOS-1D mark II digital camera and 1.5Ghz powerbook, may sukli pa

Expect the current CF card prices to drop. Also CF card based Pro Video cams if this card can write data fast enough.

Nicely said Ditoy Eagle. I'd rather go for your package anytime.

Wouldn't it be wiser though for photographers to invest in several CF cards instead rather than one very big one just in case it gets corrupted or something like that?

i'd have to agree with you good sir...

I ran into a few instances where static erased the data on my media card.
    Or corrupted it.

I assume this can only be possible for non-solid state CF or a microdrive for short. 12GB is too much for current cams, not unless we get a 20++ megapixel DSLRs. Perhaps large-format digital cams may benefit from the size capacity.

On an average I use around 2gb total storage for each weddings. Took me a hard time to fill up a 2.2gb microdrive for a two day out-of-town shoot. Also battery is a problem for now on this big storage CF cards. You could feel the heat it gives off on the side of your DSLR.

It's better to lose a few shots than the entire shoot.
