the photos taken from a video can be enhanced in Photoshop in terms of color correction and other photo adjustments but the quality is not good since the size of the video taken from a DVD is only 720x480. You can get a decent print on a 3R size print.
A follow-up inquiry to this: will a still grab from an HD cam be sharper than one shot with a miniDV cam? May I know the resolution and maximum print I can go with a grab from a HD cam please? Thanks!

You can get a maximum of 1920 x 1080 pixels from an HD cam. I assume it's 72dpi.
