I saw this posted at Fred Miranda's site. The poster claimed he saw it at Canon's website but was pulled out immediately. Familiar story? Some photoshop wisecrack? Hmmm...well, here we go again! People, start your speculating engine and let the guessing game begin!
looks like a hoax to me. the dead give away? look at the design of the body. it resembles the EOS 1 line of cameras. knowing canon's design team, they will not veer away from the original design of the EOS 3. the original EOS 3 has a more angled pentaprism housing. this one has a rounded pentaprism housing. more akin to the 1-series. also, i looked at the image through photoshop, the word "digital" at the bottom of the camera looks like it was placed there through an image editing program.
anyway, i really think it's all a hoax. if the guy who did this used an EOS 3 body instead, i probably would've believed it.
They'll probably skip calling it '3D' for obvious reasons... But there is a big gap in their line up between 20D and 1D mk.II and between 1D mk.II and the 1Ds mk.II. I'll be happy with 35mm-sized 11 mp, 3 fps and 9 frame buffer.
I'm also wondering why the old full-frame 11 mp of the 1Ds doesn't trickle down to lower models. One would assume that prices would be lower of the 11 mp as it has been amortized. On the other hand, Canon may only have one plant or manufacturing line to make full-frame imaging chips and the Old have to give way to the New.
