The shops that you were referring to that gives a very low price then tries to sell you another thing.. they are commonly known as "Monkey Shop". All the items on display are non-functioning units.

Be careful in buying things and I would recommend going to reputable shops that does not need hawkers to get customers.

This is the reason i put this page up, I dont want others to fall trap
to this kind of practice. Can you imagine the heartache they get when they
find out that the gear they bought doesnt work..
