    Default Advice for Ixus 400

    Hi,

I am thinking of getting my wife a digital camera since she lost hers which was a kodak 2.1MP camera. I am being offered an ixus 400 with 256MB card and an extra bat. I have no idea what the going rate is so would like to ask anyone's help if the camera is really old or still a good model to get and how much is reasonable.

    Thanks

B&H is selling it for $310, so add a little more, maybe 18-20k ought to be a reasonable price considering additional accesories.

This is a fairly new model and a very good camera.

Maybe your wife intentionally "lost" her Kodak

I think so too!! Now I am the one who feels bad because I was actually getting ready to get a Canon 300d. I guess I have to wait now for my Treo to be fully paid so that I can use my installment again haha!!

    It's already reasonable @ P20T if it's in like-new condition w/o the 256MB CF card & extra batt.

As to how it stacks up with the newer ixus models, it all depends on the shots you wish to take. I don't take shots above 4MP to cut down on storage space and power, so the 400's fine with me. Its image quality is superior to canon's smaller sd-based ixi (ixus30 and ixus40) because of a lot less purple fringing and as lenses go, the bigger the better right?

But if you're into the 5MP+ variety, the ixus500 and 700 are your other ixus options with more features than the 400. All three will not disappoint.

Hi! I have a Kodak DX 6490 that i am selling. It's in very good condition. If you have an existing SD card this would be an advantage. This one I used personally for my daughter's school programs and family gatherings so "slightly used". Reason for selling is that i bought a Canon 300D.

If you are interested text me at 0917-527-5826 for more details.

    Have a nice weekend.
