    Default 300D Promo ongoing

At the risk of sounding like a Canon employee (contrary to what you may think, I'm not!) there's currently an ongoing promo for the EOS-300D til the end of June. Buyers of the 300D+Lens Kit also get a 256MB CF card, a mini tripod, a CF Card wallet, and a Canon EOS camera backpack for free. So if you've been thinking it over, now might be a good time!

Offer good while supply lasts. See posters and print ads for details. Member PDIC. Breastmilk is best for babies up to two years. Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health. Sali na! For me ... it's the best.

Been thinking about getting a digital SLR to get myself started in photography. Is this a good entry model? Notwithstanding the absence of local warranty for overseas purchased cameras, how does our local price compare against HK and Singapore?

In Hong Kong, its cheaper by only a small margin. Might as well get it locally. Also, I've noticed a lot people selling their 300D lately. I even saw one for only 50k and includes a vertical grip! In the marketplace section there's someone selling the body only for 44k.

Wow! This is great news! Question though. For 40k, 2 month old 300Ds are being sold. Which is more practical? I'm coming from a G5 and have cf cards, bags, and a 420eX already. How much for a 50mm prime lens (as suggested by extremyks)?

    TIA

In the Hildago shops, I've seen f/1.8 goes for around 3,800 while f/1.4 (Canon L Lenses pa lang nakikita ko) can go up to 19k. I think the 40k 300Ds being sold are body only, so you should have a lens already or are willing to buy one.

    Thanks, mgd.

So if I were to buy the body only for 40k, which versatile(kids pictures, family) lens should I get in order to at least match the kit lens?

Any suggestions? Budget is a factor here.

    TIA
