Traktor DJ Studio 3.0

Has anyone experienced occassional audio dropouts/stutters when playing tracks with TDS 3.0? I've increased latency, played around with the audio setup... nothing happened.

Quite annoying really when you're playing through the tracks and going into this deep and engaging transition then suddenly the audio stutters... sucks...

i'm a traktor user. i use 2.6 on my powerbook and so far i haven't experienced that. i used traktor 3 already but i also haven't seen what you experienced. might i suggest you max out your ram... i used 2.6 for an all nighter set and it didn't stutter naman. also, try running the program alone, it's perty heavy on your ram...

What's your system setup including sound card? Increasing latency will reduce the performance of the audio. Does your sound card fully support CoreAudio? Traktor runs best with CoreAudio devices.

Hey guys, my systems running at 512ram and using MBP, perhaps it could be TDS running within ROSETTA, besides NI never recommended using TDS 3.0 for Intel Macs except with their upcoming Universal TDS 3.0 version.

Rather than increase latency, I decreased it to around 20 to 25. Stuttering minimized significantly, though it still stutters. TDS 3.0 is the only program running, I even killed the dashboard, turned off my Airport and bluetooth.

Im using a Beringher Firewire audio interface, and an M-audio X-session -- simple set-up, but it gets the job done except for the stutters.

You guys have gigs or play in any particular bar?

i still advise that you max out your ram to a 1 gig... i also was tempted to switch to a MBP but i had a chat with Cooles and we both agreed that now isn't the time. maybe 3rd or 4th gen for me. i want em to iron out all the bugs before i switch. i find that the power pc platform is more stable when running traktor. Some friends of mine use traktor with FS2. you might wanna wait for the stable versions of traktor because you wouldn't want the program to skip when you're playing live...

i am one of the resident DJs of BED, Manila... i also play various bars and clubs in Makati like Absinth, Flute, Peligro, Halo, Vbar & Embassy (that's Taguig), MDC (also Taguig)

i actually don't bring my vinyl or my cds anymore when i go to "work", all i bring is my 12 inch powerbook G4, M Audio Trigger Finger, Philips Aurilium soundcard, Sony MDR v700 headphones and the cables... my back is thanking me for it. hehe

thats a lot of bars travism, pretty impressive. When do you play at Embassy? I'm usually there during Fridays or Saturdays... listening. Do you know any bar sporting a pure trance playlist on Sat nights? And wheres BED?

thanks... i try. i normally don't play embassy but i got some offers. i only got to play there during the pioneer dj battle finals but the resident djs are friends of mine and they've been wanting me to guest. my schedule's perty hectic nowadays... hehehe bed is in malate. we play trance but you will normally hear it perty late, around 4 or 5am onwards. i don't know where you can get a full trance night out. most bars i know churn out house then get heavy later on as the night progresses. happy hunting buddy!

In a related development....

I decided to replace my 12 inch powerbook with a Macbook! I'm pretty excited to try out Traktor on this unit but will probably wait until it goes universal, and until i get myself more RAM.

I am also considering getting the Behringer BCD unit but not quite sure whether to use Traktor or Behringer's own app. Of course, most likely both will mean I will need to be running Windows in some form.

On that front, I am playing around with Parallels. USB support seems to be ok (although I havent tried it with the BCD. Problem is, there is a noticable speed decrease with Parallels on Windows performance (at least with the RAM that I have now). Will try to borrow Bobby's unit when I get more RAM and let everyone know how it all turns out.
