Re: Stanton Final Scratch...
Ms Pinky is a better alternative for me i think. you could scratch videos with their plug-ins and u got a pink time coded vinyl =)
or M-audio conectiv with Torq. the app looks just like ableton. and has some nice features as well like the live wave view beatmatch and itunes seamless integration

Re: Stanton Final Scratch...
ms pinky is more for live vj-ing... FS2 is more for DJs. Torq is cool too but it is still new and not yet proven. (i have yet to see torq in action...) Check out the FS2 scratch amp... there are lots of stuff you can do with it.

About Final Scratch 2
Final Scratch is aimed at turntablists to get into the digital realm. Since they already own most of the analog stuff or digital cd decks already, FS2 combined with their decks becomes a controller for their audio files. Purists can also use uncompressed WAV or AIFF btw.
Last year I took a refresher's course at Spin City, headed by DJs Mon Maramba and Jessie Suaco. They have a pair of Technics 1200s there and mixed a set that felt just like the old days. All powered by Final Scratch 1 (usb version) and Traktor software. That's when I realized that digital is ready for primetime. Paul Van Dyk is the poster boy for Final Scratch.
What I would like to know if its powerful enough for old school scratch mixers to get into. I've watched videos from YouTube of DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist and they are da bomb on that genre.
