Question portable USB (or firewire) mixer

hi folks....i'm shopping around for a portable USB or even a firewire mixer that I can pair with my macbook so portability is really a must.....right now i'm using a Samson Q1U usb mic for my mic inputs but in the very near future i'll be needing a portable USB mixer for my mobile recording studio.. i'm looking at this Alesis MultiMix 8 Firewire- http://www.alesis.com/product.php?id=40 or any of the Behringer UB series mixers- http://www.behringer.com/02_products/group_index.cfm?mid=2&ID=300〈=ENG#XENYX%20MIXERS%2 0SERIES ...my needs are quite simple really...i just need to do some voice recordings on garageband but will be needing a maximum of maybe 4 mic inputs in certain occasions....I was thinking of purchasing additional Samson Q1U's but i'm unsure if there will be conflicts...so a USB mixer is my best bet...unfortunately their are considerations...mostly on the budget side...sigh... ..it need not be branded...any suggestions on what products are cheap and locally available?

    thanks in advance..

The Behringers are locally available at Electronics Depot. They have outlets in Megamall, Ali Mall, Robinsons Galleria. THe Behringers are the cheapest equipment you can get I think. Try to research on their USB Mixers and Control surfaces (the dark blue ones), I think they are suitable for your needs. Good luck!

thanks for that! i'll definitely check it out...although upon my online research, it looks like i can connect up to 3 Samson QIU mics which is cheaper...but i'll also check out the behringers...if i have no other option...
