Future Music was the distributor before, but they closed down years ago. Whenever I get MOTU items I just order online www.sweetwater.com

Yup you will have to ship it back. I have purchased a lot of music gear from the US for almost 10 years already. I recall only 1 piece of item that stoped working during the 1 year warranty. All of my MOTU items in the studio are still operational.

Still, always safest to get locally. If the M-audio suits your requirements then no reason to look for other alternatives

Yup, have been eyeing Sweetwater as well for my audio gear purchases even though am good with my orders from Amazon. As Ditoy have said, you should give them a try Chec. Am also planning to purchase the Saffire from them in a few months.
