How to increase audio file volume?

hi! i'm not a sound editor or anything but i have these audio files that i want to transfer to my phone. probelm is, when i play the files on my phone, the volume is very low even if i max the phone's volume. basically, i just want to make the file louder. what idiot proof program can u guys recommend? and sana its free kasi i'm not gonna be doing this alot. also, the file i need to edit is .amr and i want to convert it to mp3. i need a program for that too. sana its the same program as the audio editor u guys will recommend.

Download Amadeus, then just select "Normalize" from the Effects menu and save to your desired format. You can also boost the volume from the options in the same place. Just holler when youre having problems.
