Re: Favorite Plugins and Software Instruments I've gone through a whole bunch of good and not so good ones in the past few years, but lately, as a basic toolkit for most every project, I use:
1. Everything Spectrasonics makes, but particularly Stylus RMX and Trilogy.
2. Mach Five by MOTU
3. Colossus by Quantum Leap.

Re: Favorite Plugins and Software Instruments Nice list Vic. I use Logic as well but the express version. I'm pretty satisfied with the plugins it comes with. I'm still a newbie on digital music-making and recording, here's what I use nowadays:
EZDrummer and Battery 3 for programming drum tracks
Guitar Rig 2 for playing live
Logic Express plugins
I tried Izotope's iDrum last year but really couldn't make myself comfortable with the interface
