Default Applicaton Opens Automatically at Start Up

One of my applications always opens automatically at start up. It's harmless but having to quit it each start up is starting to become a bother. How do I work around this?

Check out your login items in your accounts sir. Open System Preferences>choose accounts> choose login items. Don't just uncheck the items that start up upon your log-in, try removing them. Just make sure you know which apps you'd like not to start up upon your start-up.
