    hey guys... does anyone know any other local distributor of Akai? i heard it was Joint Venture but i spoke to a friend who works there and he said na they've stopped carrying the product line. help!

    Alam ko there's no akai distributor in the philippines. What akai product you looking for? If it's small lang, just order online, then have it shipped here.

    did ya hear about the new akai mpc500? its very small and has all the pads of mpd plus its all u need to produce ur own tracks and do live remixing. go check it out

    the MPC500 has a street price of about 800 dollars, which is a little bit too much in my opinion. And that seems to be the only barrier to purchase actually for anyone who would want this baby.

    yup that's what most people are wondering why it's so expensive. Like one blogger said, the price is bordering on laptop territory.

    The mpd24 does seem to be a better alternative than the Trigger Finger. I've been reading all sorts of problems with the resposiveness of the Trigger Finger's pads. Knowing Akai's reputation am pretty sure the pads will be awesome. And at 199 dollars it should be priced competitively against the Trigger.
