you know those semi transparent stackable plastic boxes you can buy at the supermarket? guess what you can do with that...
I haven't personally tried it, but it sounds like a good idea.

Ah, I'll have to clarify.
For photography, a light box is a white box where you put products in so that you can take pictures in a controlled environment. The white sides diffuse the light.
For artists, a light box is a box with a white side on top and usually a fluorescent tube inside.
It's used mainly by cartoonists and artist for tracing and stuff.
Right now, I'm looking for the latter. So that's why this new thread is in the artist's forum.

Thanks for the clarification. I used to have a drafting table with an acrylic top and fluorescent light below. I bought it at an office supply store but that was back in the '90s.

^^ tradionally, for photographers, a lightbox is similar to the one you described for artists which is used to view negatives on. In the same manner a doctor would look at your xray negative on the wall

Really? Then what do you call the box photographers use for product photography where the sides are made of white cloth?
