Software for a 3D text?

Hello Philmuggers, I would just like to ask what software you guys use to achieve the look of a 3D text?

I've been trying it out on Photoshop but it doesn't turn out the way I want it to..

So please recommend some software I could use. Thanks in advance!!! :P

I use Proanimator Zaxwerks it has plugins for FCP, Motion and After Effects. Just save it as png

you can also extrude text (and rotate in 3D) from illustrator or macromedia freehand. zaxwerks also has plugins for photoshop.

I use Lightwave 9.6

But you have a FREE option for OSX available called BLENDER ... here: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/
