hello everyone

need a little help here. a client of mine needs 3 quotes from 3 printers for a desktop calendar that i'll be designing for them. deadline for the quote is tomorrow before lunch sana. already have one quote, so i need two more. mejo malaking project, around 1000 pieces for a 9 page desktop calendar (including cover) na naka spring bind.

i already have a study of the format and layout of the calendar which i can show to you through email. if there's enough time, perhaps i can visit your office to show you the mock-up and explain the format thoroughly. and sana pala qc area para madali puntahan

here pala is the specs of the project:

UN HABITAT Desktop Calendar

size: 12 inches x 4.5 inches (landscape)
no. of pages: 6 (inside) +3 (cover) = 9 (back to back= 18)
type of paper: matte 180 (inside)
type of board: don't know yet, must be thick enough to support the calendar (cover)
color: full color (with both matte and glossy finish)
binding: black spring
number of pieces: 1,000
specifications: front cover is 1 piece (folded at middle) and must have a stopper at the inside edge of the frontmost piece (will be used as the base of the calendar when unfolded - SIDE A in attached diagram)

attached is a rough sketch of the format of the calendar. sorry kung mejo magulo, just ask if you need some clarifications. thanks again

what a coincidence, i just came from their office. i happen to see it whle i was on my way home. they can give me a quote daw before 5pm. i still have to contact print town.

i saw print town along south super highway on my way to laguna.... i heard that they give good deals when it comes to printing jobs. Is this true?

Yuck-o... did you call them? How much ang binigay nila sayo for the print job. cos i just placed my order sa another printer (not from print town though). No pages but a standard calendar-christmas-card combo na tent style. I ordered 9000pcs ksi for company giveaways. I got it for 6.50 each with the envelope.

i was able to contact olive kanina through text then i emailed her the specs of the calendar. still waiting for the quote though. i'll pm you as soon as i get her reply.

i have received though a quote from another printer, and they gave me 88.40 per piece for 1000 pieces.

that's their plant. print town's administrative and sales office is along pasong tamo, in the building behind the philippine daily inquirer.

they do give good deals. in fact, they are so much cheaper than cleofe, and they are the only ones in the country who can print on satin matte paper. the computer-to-plate technology is amazing. no more color separation, and for volumes of over 5,000 copies, they automatically use the machine for heatset printing, and the colors are just so wonderfully vivid.
