How to edit a PDF's resolution...

Hi Guys,

Have a little problem. Hope you can help me.

How do I decrease the file size of a PDF file? Can I lower its resolution? Can I compress it? I still need it in PDF format though. Just need all my PDFs to be lower thAN 10MB.

There's the hard way of opening the pages up in Photoshop then making a new file again but is there an easier way? Other programs?

You'll need Acrobat Pro to optimize the pdf file, especially if it's a multi-page pdf...

Try this, open PDF in Preview, save as, select "reduse file size" in Quart Filter options.

Pros: It's free and brainless unlike Adobe Acrobat Pro
Cons: Canned optimization

YUp, I got Acrobat Pro... how do I do it? SOrry po, di hamak na writer lang po ako....

Thanks super_ed. BUT, Preview's reduce file size was too much, coudnt read the text as it was super blurry. Thanks again.

In the menu bar go to- Advanced- PDF optimizer. From there set the compression to your liking. If you get lost just holler.

I have different problem. I have pdf documents one page per file. I want to lay two of them side by side to form a booklet. When I open the pdf on photoshop the text gets rough. Is there a free pdf editor than can do this?

Open it in Illustrator instead, or if you have InDesign, place the individual files side by side.

So it can't be done in Photoshop.

Try setting the resolution to 300dpi when you open the file in Photoshop. Also, see if the file was exported in high-res when the PDF file was created. In InDesign, you are asked the file resolution when exporting.
