    welcome, loloedu!

FilCartoons was into 2d and 3d animation based in Pioneer St., Pasig where some batchmates from the UP CFA took on freelance jobs as in-betweeners and pencillers at the time. Then, the biggest client it handled was supplying animations (from peniclling to finalizing) for Hanna-Barbera in Australia.

I'm sure that was a tough and demanding job for some batchmates as CGI was still in its early stages of use here in the Philippines, and most of the work done by them were by hand.

Not sure if it is still around, though.

owww...sorry, I do not have that info, as I did not work at FilCartoons. Try a Google search for it, (FilCartoons, with an 's', add 'Pasig' also to focus your search) or call CITEM (see link above). They might have the info you're looking for.

    Most welcome.

yeah, most of fine arts fellows found job there before.
but after earning experiences, they go abroad for more learning and career.

i think toei animations took place now.

and i don't have any full relevant info regarding 2d animation studios here.

FilCartoons was abolished about five years ago if I am not mistaken. Some of the senior staff created their own animation firm and are now well known animation studios in the country. Animasia, Top Draw, Digital Eye Candy are some of the few and are being tapped by big names in the animation production industry in the US, Canada and Singapore.

I think the industry became more diversified, and many animation studios sprang out of the former employees of Fil-Cartoons. Each company specializes in different types of animation

I think many are in the Libis area, and surprisingly, quite a few in the Bicol region. (Maybe someone can explain why?).

Aside from US style animation, we also do plenty of anime style, and anime-mangas (books) here, although we're getting stiff competition from Taiwan and China. We're also pretty big in Computer Generated animation (2D and 3D).
