    Default Color Profile in MacBookPro

Hi guys! I've been using a Mac for quite a while now. I'm a graphic designer, and I do quite a lot of work. My problem is that I have not adjusted my color profile yet, and I would like to adjust it so that it would be similar to the one in windows. I spend a lot of time tweaking my final output so that it would not look "washed out" in windows.

Can you guys help me out? I need tutorials, help, recommendations, links, to whatever can help me adjust my color profile. I know that Mac has a wonderful color profile, but most of my clients are using windows.

I'm using a 2007 MacBookPro and Mac OSX Leopard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thaks very much.

    Hi welcome to PhilMUG.

First off, you may want to get a monitor calibrator like Spyder or Monaco or Gretag.

I personally use a gamma of 2.2 on my MacBook Pro (the Mac default is 1.8, and windows uses 2.2) and a luminance value of 6500K Daylight.

This should get you off to a start.

I design for the web so I always set my gamma to 2.2 Television Gamma when I calibrate my display. This is the Windows default which is still the majority.

    More info here and here.

    Hope that helps!

Ok, thanks for the tip! I'll try to fly to manila to attend. I'm currently staying in Iloilo City.

I found a solution though (Thanks to my friends in TopCoder.com).

I set my display's color profile to sRGBIEC61966-2.1
And I set my Photoshop CS3's color settings to North America Gen. Purpose 2, sRGBIEC61966-2.1.

    Thanks again guys!

Better to set your monitor AND Photoshop to Adobe RGB (1998). Many pro cameras also use this profile.
