jaewalk, in singapore, there are a number of hotspots by singtel, called OWF, outdoor wireless surf. i think they have the starbucks concession.
if you are a globe subscriber, just dial *186 and press send on your cellphone. a userid and password will get sent back to you and you can use this to login to the hotspot. charges will be sent to your cellphone bill.

Hi jaeWALK. More details on the Singtel hotspot network, including prices, can be found here.
When I was in Singapore last year I tried out the Wi-Fi service of StarHub, at about S$9 per hour (I was just killing time in the ariport before taking my connecting flight). Pretty expensive, IMHO.
I think both providers (Singtel and StarHub) have pay-as-you-go and a daily plan, or something close to it.
StarHub's rates can be found here.
Good luck.

You want cheap WiFi in Singapore? Go to any McDonald's outlet.
They offer FREE WiFi in most of their branches. If you have problems connecting, just press the Ctrl key when selecting the access point.
Also, if you happen to be in Funan IT Mall, the whole mall is a free hotspot.

I was recently in the airport and picked up the Starhub signal, and they prompted for a password. Do they sell Wifi prepaid cards anywhere there?
