I was just wondering if anyone here has experience using wi-fi abroad, specifically in the UK and Europe?
Do I have to get an account similar to Airborne Access or can you just walk into some coffee shop and get free access there? Been trying to check various European ISP's and I can't find any useful information on Wi-fi.
Since am leaving at the end of the week for Europe, I don't want to stay 'disconnected' too long. Especially since it may take some time before I can get an internet connection at my place there.
T Mobile WiFi is available in Starbucks around London. Just look for the sign. It requires you to have a credit card and the sign up makes you choose a package suitable for your needs. There may be free day passes available also at Starbucks.

Oh that's great, that should be perfect.

best thing to get is a global account like iPass. I have one and it works great.
try searching for free wi-fi hotspots on the web. when i was in SF last week, i didn't have to pay for wi-fi. that city is teeming with free wi-fi hotspots. even our hotel was a wi-fi hotspot. if you're staying at a hotel, check if they have free- wi-fi services.
