Default Is there a way to make my Powerbook wifi as good as my ibook's?

I can't take the fact that the wireless performance of my wife's ibook is twice better than that of my 15" powerbook. Any tips on how I can improve the sensitivity of my wifi? Or this this something I have to live with due to the aluminum casing of the powerbook. How about the "Use Interferrence Robustness" - what is that all about?

If you're using tiger, the display on the menu bar now actually indicates transfer speed instead of signal strength.

Oh I see! thanks! No wonder sometimes it's full, sometimes not.... thought it was a bug in the display.

But when I use MacStumbler to show the signal strength, I never get more than 75% even when am just 2 meters away from the wireless hub with no obstacles.
