Default Remote Desktop (PC - Mac)

Pardon me if this has been discussed before, just needed your inputs really quick.

    1. Can a PC access my shared desktop? (another user account).

He just need to test and recode something but I unfortunately I can't lend him my powerbook for this sole purpose certainly because I use it all day.

    Thanks.

i don't think it is possible to access a PC harddrive via you mac, or vice versa. i have all my computers networked to my company network. i have a PC desktop, MAC desktop and a powerbook ...all connected to the company network. i can see and access other mac's in the company and servers, but i can't access my PC. anyways, that's my 2 cents. maybe there is away, but from my experience.....you can't.

maybe someone in here who is more IT savvy may know, but it would probably require a add-on product to do so.

    good luck!

I think he can access the files. I definitely know that you can access files on PC's on a network since I do that all the time. We have a windows server here where i test some of the sites i work on. I also store some files on the server.

I can also access the windows server via the Microsoft Remote Desktop. They have a client for the Mac.

If you want to do it the reverse and have a PC access your mac i think you can set up your mac to share files via the Apache web server built in to OS X. There's an option for windows sharing as well. Although i haven't tried this one since I don't want anyone accessing my mac. hehehehe.

    I do think it's possible.
