    Default PPPoe issue

    Guys,

I'm having a problem connecting myDSL to my Imac. I opened the connection log and here is what I found out:

    PPPoe connection established
    Connect: pppo<-->socket[34:16]
Peer is not authorized to use remote address 127.0.0.254

It was working before and able to use for 2 weeks and suddenly it won't able to connect from myDSL. No problem if I tried to use myDSL to my PC. It works perfectly and connect fast.

Do I need to call PLDT or I can fix it by changing some configurations ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ed

    Hi Ed,
    Nice to see your here.
First off, have you already updated with the latest security fixes for the Mac?
From what you posted, you were able to use DSL with your Mac for 2 weeks, right? did you install any peer-to-peer software like Acquisition, Limewire, etc. right before the problem started? - If so, try to uninstall them and see what happens.
Try also posting this problem in the other forum I mentioned to you.
I use my mac on different dsl connections, including PLDT, with no problems.
    Good luck,
    Floyd

    Thanks for your reply guys.

    Flyod,

I didn't install any security update. Infact, I don't install any program for the past 2 weeks when I'm using my Imac. It just suddenly stop working which is really strange though.

I already posted this issue in pinoymac.org and someone said about turning off all the proxied which is already off.

Hopefully I can find a solution for this as I really like using my Imac instead of this PC that I'm using right now.

Maybe it is time to call for PLDT support. Am sure it is not a Mac problem per se, but more of a configuration problem.

    me too!
pldt mydsl pppoe stopped working on both my pbook and my imac. now even my router won't run. the only connection i can get is a direct connection through my PC's. the connection hangs on "Authenticating User" on the macs. On the router, WRT54G, it can get an IP but the computers, both PC's and MAC don't have an internet connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Default PPPoe issue

    Here's the update.

I called PLDT DSL support and double check my Imac settings. She gave me 2
DNS server IP address. All the setup are right including the PPPoe setup under Network.

At the end, my Imac still doesn't work. She told me it could something on the security from the Imac. I ask her if she knows where to look at and she said she's not familiar with the Apple and suggest to talk to Apple techs for this.

So, I guess it's just me now and this helpful group who might resolve this problem.

If there's anyone there doesn't have any issue using PLDT MyDSL on their MAC. Could you please post your setting and I will double check it with mine. Especially on security connection (probably the Firewall under Sharing under System preferences.

    Thanks,
    Ed
