    Default PLDT DSL

    Hellow fellow PLDT DSL subscriber,

Are you still experiencing sub 256 & 384kbps speeds? I sure am right now. Been emailing PLDT everyday and yet all I get is excuses. How's it on your end?

    speed was never consistent.

Do you experience a sudden slowdown or sometimes
nothing happens and it seems like you have lost connection but havent?
ive been getting this consistenly these past few weeks.

Get email errors or browser errors.

Still at 256Kbps here, using myDSL Pro. Passed by the local PLDT central office yesterday, same story. PLDT's still updating its systems daw. Funny how only the residential DSL packages are affected. The 384Kbps PLDT business DSL package is still getting the full 384Kbps bandwidth.

I used to have the same issues a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had a dropped connection since then. Speed's actually consistent. Consistently maxes out at 256Kbps when I'm paying for 384Kbps. Grrr.

I hope PLDT gives us a rebate or at least release us from our contract. I commited to another 12 months with them just for 384kbps juice.

According to my friend inside myDSL, the reason for the recent decline in Pldt's speeds is that they got hit by an attack on their system running Cisco. Although Cisco denies that the attack had any effect on Pldt's services, this "daw" isn't true. Hence, expect Pldt's services to be as crappy as ever in the next few weeks.

I lost my connection the whole afternoon yesterday (Tues, 4-13), from 12nn to 9pm.

    Anyone else had this problem?

Well, for those of you who really get fed up - I had to pay P3,000 to PLDT for pre-termination of my DSL service! Not because I was disgusted with them but because Cyn and I moved out of the condo we were occupying.

I also had to return the DSL modem to the main office near Greenbelt.

Same here. Subscribed to 384k, but getting less than 256k speeds.

I checked speed using pldtplay.com in Seattle's Best E Rodriguez (near our place) using WiFi and looks like it's slow there as well. But when I checked the speed in Greenbelt 3 it was around 600-700kbps! I suggest to all MUGgers to go there and take advantage of the high speed while it's still free!

    Hi Vic,
Have you had the DSL service for less than a year? Maybe that's why they charged a pre-termination fee. I've been using this for more than a year now and wonder if they might find some excuse to charge me too if I shift over to airborne access (if that's offer's on..yoo hoo Elbert - any news?). Funny thing is Airborne access was bought by ePLDT sometime 1st quarter last year.
